Nevada City Public Works reconstructing building destroyed by storm


If you’ve been driving up Boulder Street in Nevada City, you may have noticed the construction of a new building on the property that facilitates Nevada City Public Works.

“This is a replacement of the storage building that collapsed in the storm of (2021). We are replacing a building that was here,” said Mark Tintle of MK & Sons Construction, who was hired by the city to replace the fallen structure.

Nevada has game vs Middle Tennessee rescheduled


RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The Nevada football team has had its 2026 matchup against Middle Tennessee rescheduled.

The road matchup against the Blue Raiders has been moved up a week, and will now be played on Sept. 19.

The game was originally scheduled for Sept. 26.

The Wolf Pack played MTSU last year, losing to the Blue Raiders in Reno 14-13.

Nevada will open the 2026 season on Sept. 5 against Western Kentucky.

Nevada Highway Patrol investigates fatal pedestrian crash in Pahrump


Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian Saturday evening in Pahrump.

Troopers responded to a report of a crash at 6:15 p.m. on eastbound Charleston Park Avenue just west of Happy Lane in Nye County.

The crash involved a passenger sedan and a pedestrian, and an adult male pedestrian was confirmed dead at the scene.

According to officials, the driver of the sedan stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Happy Lane between Wood Chips was closed, and motorists were advised to use alternate routes and avoid the area.

Nevada Highway Patrol said additional information will be released after the preliminary investigation.
