Best College Football Prop Bets for New Mexico vs. San Diego State in Week 11
If you’re staying up late for Friday night college football action, there is a gold mine of player prop opportunities in New Mexico vs. San Diego State.
Under first year head coaches, both New Mexico and San Diego State have trotted out high octane offenses with lackluster defenses, which has made for entertaining affairs all season long. In this Week 11 Mountain West showdown, I’m looking at three key contributors to clear their respective player props.
Get ready for Week 11 action here!
Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook
Eli Sanders OVER 57.5 Rushing Yards
Sanders is fresh off his best game of the season, rushing for 205 yards on 17 carries with two touchdowns.
While that was the first time that he cleared 100 yards on the season, he has been a steady force in this Lobos offense, rushing for at least 70 yards in five of the other eight games.
The Lobos have an advantageous matchup against the San Diego State defense that has been pushed around all season defending the rush, ranking 124th in defensive line yards and 106th in EPA/Rush.
Sanders is the No. 1 option in a high-octane offense that has plenty of creative ways to get him the ball, back him to go over this mark in a game with a total in the high 60’s.
Devon Dampier OVER 64.5 Rushing Yards
Sanders is a good bet to go over his rushing yard total, but it’s Dampier who is the Lobos’ leading rusher this season.
The sophomore has been dynamic in Bronco Mendenhall’s offense, rushing the ball five or more times in every game since the opener, and has rushed the ball at least 11 times in the last four games. Dampier has rushed for 50 or more yards in all but two games, so he has a steady floor, and an average of 82.7 yards.
While the concern is that San Diego State is top 10 in the country in sacks, the volume of plays should offset that and give Dampier plenty of bites at getting over this total given that both teams are top 50 in seconds per play.
Danny O’Neil OVER 223.5 Passing Yards
New Mexico’s defense is among the worst in the nation, bottom 10 in almost any metric you will look at.
Meanwhile, the freshman quarterback O’Neil has started to come into his own for the Aztecs in Sean Lewis’ fast-paced offense. He has gone under this total in two straight, but given the up-tempo nature of this game, I expect O’Neil to settle in nicely.
He has shown the ability to clear this mark with 254 passing yards against Wyoming and 246 against Central Michigan, two defenses in the same realm as this Lobos’ patchwork pass defense.
With a game in the 60’s, I expect O’Neil to get his and clear this total.
Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.

PFL returns to San Diego in June with A.J. McKee vs. Salamat Isbulaev
Professional Fighters League is making its return to Southern California, with San Diego the site of a pro mixed martial arts event for the first time in nearly two years.
PFL San Diego Presented by GOVX will take place June 27 at Pechanga Arena, with former Bellator featherweight champion A.J. McKee squaring off against undefeated Salamat Isbulaev in the main event.
Bellator held its final event – Bellator 300 on Oct. 27, 2023, at Pechanga Arena – before being acquired less than four weeks later by PFL. The company returned to San Diego for Bellator Champions Series 4 on Sept. 7, 2024.
“San Diego has one of the strongest fight cultures in the country, and it’s a community that truly understands and appreciates this sport,” PFL CEO John Martin said. “Bringing PFL here and doing it with a card headlined by a Southern California star like A.J. McKee makes this event especially meaningful for us.”
The 31-year-old McKee (24-2), who fights out of Long Beach, continues his pursuit to reclaim his place atop the 145-pound division. Ranked No. 2 in the PFL, McKee is coming off a unanimous-decision victory over Adam Borics at PFL Madrid in March. He has won both his fights since returning to featherweight after a 4-1 stint in the 155-pound lightweight division.
The sixth-ranked Isbulaev (10-0) has quickly scaled the 145-pound rankings. In his PFL debut, the 29-year-old from Kazakhstan recorded a first-round knockout upset of former PFL featherweight champ Jesus Pinedo in February.
“This is the kind of fight that defines a division. A proven champion in A.J. McKee facing an undefeated challenger in Salamat Isbulaev, who’s coming off a statement win over a former champion and brings serious momentum into this matchup,” Martin said.
Tickets for PFL San Diego Presented by GOVX are available through pre-sale Monday at pfl.info/sandiego.
The main card will air live at 7 p.m. on ESPN 2. The prelims, which starts at 4 p.m., will air on the ESPN app. No other bouts have been announced.

Person struck, killed by train in Encinitas
A person was fatally struck by a train in the Cardiff neighborhood of Encinitas early Wednesday afternoon, a sheriff’s official said.
The collision was reported just after 1 p.m. in the area of Chesterfield Drive at San Elijo Avenue, Lt. Joe Berry said.
The Sheriff’s Office’s Railroad Enforcement Unit is investigating the incident.
Chesterfield was briefly closed between San Elijo and Coast Highway 101 as first responders worked, but the road has since reopened.
In a post on social media platform X, the North County Transit District warned people to expect significant delays for Coaster service. Tracks were closed between Solana Beach and Encinitas stations, it said, and a Breeze bus bridge would be available for passengers between those stations.
