Colorado teenager shot in face looking for location for homecoming photos: police
A 17-year-old boy who was searching for a spot to take homecoming photos was allegedly shot in the face by a property owner, who is a member of the Mountain View, Colorado town council, according to authorities.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said 38-year-old Brent Metz was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, two counts of felony menacing, illegal discharge of a firearm, and two counts of reckless endangerment.
The sheriff’s office said deputies responded to the 23000 block of Pleasant Park Road after the homeowner reported two trespassers were on her property. The homeowner also reported to her boyfriend that there were trespassers on her property.
When deputies arrived, they found two vehicles on the side of Pleasant Park Road, and when one of the deputies approached, he discovered a teenage boy bleeding heavily from his face.

With the teenager was another boy who was applying pressure to his friend’s wounds with a shirt.
Standing nearby was Metz, the man the victim accused of shooting him in the face through the windshield of his car.
The victim told the deputy he and his friend went to the property to inquire about using the location to take homecoming pictures.
After parking near the gate to the home, the boys jumped the fence and walked up the driveway to speak with the homeowner. But when nobody appeared to be at the home, the victim told the deputy, he and his friend walked around the property to see if they could locate the homeowner.

Still, nobody was around, so the boys returned to their vehicles, where the victims said they were writing a note to the homeowner to ask permission to use their property to take pictures.
As the boys were writing the note, the boy alleged, a man he and his friend had never seen pulled up next to them, got out of his truck and fired a round through the windshield, striking the driver in the face.

The sheriff’s office said the gun allegedly used in the shooting was inside Metz’s truck.
The sheriff’s office also told Fox News Digital the two boys are not likely to face second-degree trespassing charges, noting their intent to be on the property and find the homeowner for permission to take photos there was not malicious.
As of Thursday, the victim remained hospitalized with serious injuries to his face.
Metz was transported to headquarters where he was processed and booked into jail. He was later released after posting $5,000 bond.
Fox News Digital has reached out to Metz for comment.
The investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Skier’s prank backfires, leaving her dangling 65 feet in the air as twin desperately holds on

A skier was left dangling 65 feet in the air after a prank on a chairlift went terribly wrong.
The incident happened Feb. 24 at Big Bear Lake in California, where Roula De Miranda-Arce, 21, was riding the lift with her twin sister and a friend, news agency SWNS reported.
Big Bear Mountain Resort confirmed the incident in a statement shared with Fox News Digital.
AIRLINES PREPARE FOR RECORD-BREAKING SPRING BREAK TRAVEL SURGE AS AMERICANS ‘PRIORITIZE EXPERIENCES’
“At approximately 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, a 21-year-old female skier safely loaded onto Chair 9 at Bear Mountain. At some point during her ride to the top, she failed to maintain proper safety protocols and became suspended from the carrier,” the resort said in its statement.
The organization added, “The guest and her sister, who was riding the carrier with her, admitted to horseplay as the reason for her becoming suspended. As soon as staff became aware of the situation, they took quick action to stop the carrier and unload everyone as soon as it reached the upper terminal.”

Officials said the skier was evaluated by ski patrol as a precaution and did not sustain significant injuries.

In an attempt to jokingly scare her sister, De Miranda-Arce slid down from the moving chair, planning to hang briefly before pulling herself back up, SWNS reported.
The weight of her skis, however, made it impossible for her to lift herself back onto the seat — leaving her suspended as the chair continued uphill.
Video shows the young woman hanging in midair while her sister and friend cling tightly to her arms, preventing her from falling.
“I thought I was going to die or become a paraplegic,” she said.

The young woman said she began screaming as the strain on her arms intensified.
“I was screaming at one point, ‘Just let me go,’ because it felt like my arms were going to break,” she said.
“And thank God my sister and my friend did not listen to me.”

The resort said the incident serves as a reminder for guests to lower the safety bar and avoid potentially dangerous behavior while riding lifts.
