Huntington Beach voters pass ban on Pride, other flags
Voters in Huntington Beach approved a measure this week that limits what flags can fly on city property.
Measure B passed with more than 58% of the vote following Tuesday’s polling, according to the Orange County Registrar of Voters election results.
Part of the measure states that only the United States flag, the State of California flag, the County of Orange flag, the City of Huntington Beach flag, the POW-MIA flag, the six Armed Forces flags and the Olympic flag during the Summer Olympic Games be displayed on City property.
That part of the measure currently bans Pride, breast cancer awareness and religious flags.
There is a loophole however should the City decide in the future to fly another flag.
The measure stated that any other flag could be flown if authorized by a unanimous vote of the City Council.
The ordinance was originally passed by the Huntington Beach City Council last year and now becomes part of the City Charter.

A hospital needs help identifying a male patient who was found injured and unconscious in downtown Los Angeles.
The man is believed to be in his 30s, according to the Los Angeles General Medical Center.
He was found injured on the ground on Omar Street and has been hospitalized since June 22.
He stands 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 176 pounds. He has brown eyes, dark brown hair and tattoos across his upper body.
He did not have any personal belongings to help staff identify him or contact loved ones. Workers did not disclose the nature of his injuries.

Police are asking the public for help Wednesday in identifying a hit-and-run driver who left a woman badly injured in Long Beach late last month.
