Arkansas native hopes to sail around the world in race

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – An Arkansan is planning to compete in the 2026 Golden Globe race by sailing around the world.

According to our content partner KARK, the 30,000-mile nonstop trip without any assistance is just what Olivia Wyatt wants.

Wyatt is from Little Rock, and grew up in the Natural State, but has always had a love for the ocean.

“Because I’m from the landlocked State of Arkansas and didn’t grow up sailing, as soon as I met the ocean it was hard to get me out of it,” Wyatt said.

Once she began sailing in 2019, she couldn’t stop.

“I sailed from San Diego to Hawaii alone,” Wyatt said.
