Freeze Warning extended across Arizona; here’s what it means for you
PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) — It’s a First Alert morning for freezing and below freezing temperatures across Arizona. A Freeze Warning remains in effect for the Valley until 9am, with outlying areas under a Hard Freeze Warning through the same time period.
Unseasonably cool weather continues for Arizona today behind a cold front and general troughing in our region. Today brings a high of just 56 degrees under sunny skies. Temperatures are set to plummet again tonight and another Freeze Warning has been issued for the morning hours Wednesday. Wednesday morning will also be another First Alert morning for the dangerous cold.
Thursday brings a quick-moving low pressure system that sweeps across the Great Basin and into Arizona. This will bring high country snow above 4000 feet and rain chances to the Valley, mainly Thursday morning. Temperatures will stay cold thanks to this system. Near-freezing or below freezing temperatures are likely again by the end of this week, with highs staying in the mid 50s through Friday.
The holiday weekend brings a slight warm-up with mid 60s and sunshine.
