The Buffalo Bills are certainly candidates to trade up the draft board and secure a top-flight receiver.

After trading Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans, Buffalo has an opening at the WR1 spot and one draft guru reported that general manager Brandon Beane is eyeing Washington’s Rome Odunze to fill that spot.

Appearing on the Dan Patrick Show, ESPN’s Matt Miller offered a bold prediction for the Bills on draft night.

“I think Buffalo would love to move heaven and earth to get Rome Odunze,” said Miller. “I completely agree with this strategy.”

Odunze, a potential Top 10 pick, would almost definitely require moving up from the Bills’ current first-round position at No. 28 overall to draft him.

“If you could take this year’s first, next year’s first and get a Rome Odunze in the Top 10 potentially,” said Miller. “I think Buffalo is one of the few teams, really, where you could make that argument of you’re close. You have the quarterback, you have the infrastructure. You need that rookie wide receiver. You need that guy making $5 million a year, who can be one of the top players at his position.”

The All-American Odunze led all NCAA FBS players in receiving yards (1,640) as Washington advanced all the way to the CFP National Championship Game.

The U.S. military said Wednesday the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier George Washington will leave this week from Virginia for the Yokosuka naval base near Tokyo, replacing another Nimitz-class vessel, the Ronald Reagan.

The George Washington, which was deployed to the base from 2008 to 2015, is due to depart from Naval Station Norfolk on Thursday, sailing through the Pacific after rounding Cape Horn at the southern tip of South America, it said.

Before arriving at the Japanese port city by the end of the year, the carrier is expected to sail with warships from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay, according to the U.S. Navy. Port calls are also planned in Brazil, Chile and Peru.

The replacement of the Ronald Reagan for an overhaul will take place because overseas deployments of naval ships are limited to 10 years under U.S. law.

In 2008, the George Washington’s arrival in Yokosuka marked the first permanent deployment of a nuclear-powered carrier at a Japanese port.

Ron Rivera’s tenure leading the Washington Commanders didn’t end as well as anyone had hoped it would, with a four-win season capping off the most recent run of losing seasons – or at least lack of winning – the franchise has had to endure.

With the NFL Draft on the horizon, Rivera sat down with Keyshawn Johnson to discuss the state of the Commanders as he sees it, and what he feels they need to do moving forward to achieve what his rosters never could.

“I think trying to shore up the offensive line is (the) first thing,” Rivera said about priorities Washington needs to address short term. “Especially if you’re going after one of these young quarterbacks. You have to be able to protect them. There are some good, young, talented players that are still there. I think (guard) Sam Cosmi has a chance to really ascend and be a top-flight guard in this league, I really do. They got to find the left tackle, and if they do truly draft a quarterback, which everybody believes they’re going to do, I believe they’re going to do it too…they’ve gotta be able to protect him.”
