Jan. 31 (UPI) — Basic Motors introduced Tuesday it should make a $650 million fairness funding into Lithium Americas to develop the Thacker Cross mine in Nevada to supply materials wanted for its electrical autos.
GM is touting the information because the largest-ever funding by a carmaker to supply home lithium to make EV batteries. Lithium Americas, which is predicated in Vancouver, Canada, stated it believes there’s sufficient lithium within the mine to supply batteries for 1 million EVs yearly.
