State flags across Hawaii lowered to half-staff to honor Abigail Kawananakoa
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – As Native Hawaiians mourn the demise of royal heiress Abigail Kawananakoa, state flags might be lowered to half-staff in her honor.
Governor Josh Inexperienced issued the flag order in mild of her passing Sunday night. She was 96 years previous.
The flag order might be in place till sundown on Dec. 18. It applies to the Hawaiian flags on the Hawaii State Capitol, all state places of work and businesses, in addition to the Hawaii Nationwide Guard.
In an announcement, Gov. Inexperienced stated, “Jaime and I are deeply saddened by the lack of Princess Abigail Kinoiki Kekaulike Kawānanakoa. Abigail bore the load of her place with dignity and humility, enriched the lives of everybody she touched, and like so many Aliʻi who got here earlier than her, she has left a legacy devoted to her folks in perpetuity.”
The assertion continued, “Hawaiʻi mourns this nice loss, and our aloha and heartfelt condolences exit to her complete ʻohana and all who had the privilege of figuring out Princess Abigail Kawānanakoa.”
