California woman dies after snow porch collapses in storm

The intense winter storm battering the Sierra and enormous swaths of California has resulted within the dying of an 80-year-old lady in Placer County, authorities confirmed to SFGATE Wednesday. 

Lois Barton, of Foresthill, died Tuesday after the snow porch of her dwelling collapsed on her below a number of ft of snow. After two days of heavy snow and excessive winds, the blizzard subsided within the area on Wednesday, although snow is anticipated to return this weekend.
