PHOENIX –  This past week, Gov. Katie Hobbs and her running mate, former Mesa Mayor John Giles, traveled across the state, meeting with local workers, union members, and labor leaders to thank them for all of their hard work and discuss their commitment to protecting Arizona workers.

Katie kicked off the week on Monday, joining Senator Kelly in Tucson for a Southern Arizona labor mixer.

On Thursday, Katie and John toured MKB Construction’s headquarters and prefabrication facility, meeting with Carpenters Local 1912 President Fabian Sanchez, company leadership, and local employees.

On Friday, they attended the AFL-CIO Labor Day Luncheon, where Katie emphasized the vital role of unions and workers’ voices in our democracy.

John wrapped up the series on Monday attending the Pima Area Labor Federation Labor Day Picnic, where he thanked workers and encouraged attendees to make their voices heard this November.

Engaging with working Arizonans has been a top priority since day one of the Hobbs campaign. Her campaign released its first endorsement from the Arizona AFL-CIO, representing more than 185,000 union members statewide. Katie has crisscrossed the state to hear directly from workers and businesses, visiting union halls and touring local farms, restaurants, and healthcare facilities. Throughout her conversations with labor leaders, advocates, and small business owners, she has focused on lowering costs for Arizonans and protecting workers’ rights, so hardworking Arizonans can thrive.

Since taking office, Katie has delivered on the issues that matter most to working Arizonans: lowering costs and expanding access to necessities like healthcare and childcare. This year, she signed a bipartisan budget providing $1.4 billion in tax relief for hardworking Arizonans, including the elimination of taxes on tips and overtime pay. She has delivered paid parental leave, childcare investments, and healthcare expansions for working families, and canceled $1 billion in medical debt for nearly 700,000 Arizonans.

She has worked to deliver for Arizona workers and ensure unions have a seat at the table, investing in efforts to double state apprenticeships through the BuildItAZ initiative, launching a first-in-the-nation Workplace Heat Stress State Emphasis Plan to protect outdoor workers from Arizona’s extreme heat, and blocking legislative efforts to erode workers’ protections.

Week 3 Top 20 HS football performers

1. Jamerrius Anthony, Cortez, QB, Sr.

In a 42-40 win over rival Washington, he ran for 269 yards and three touchdowns and passed for 117 yards and two more scores.

2. Kael Snyder, Perry, QB, Sr.

He completed all 13 of his passes for 248 yards and four touchdowns in the Pumas’ 55-14 win over Las Vegas Centennial.

3. Jayce Wilson, Chaparral, RB, Sr.

He had three touchdowns, two rushing and one receiving, in the first half of the Firebirds’ 57-0 rout of Tempe. He had three carries for 105 yards and a 28-yard TD catch.

4. Dylan Linder, Hamilton, OLB/DE, Sr.

He had three of the Huskies’ nine sacks and an interception returned for a touchdown in a 44-0 rout of Las Vegas Arbor View.

5. Jason Haines, Liberty, QB, So.

He completed 16 of 27 passes for 243 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a score in a 38-24 win over a tough Corner Canyon team out of Draper, Utah.

6. Corbin Wood, Show Low, RB/LB, Jr.

In a 44-14 win over Page, he ran for 200 yards and three TDs and had an interception.

7. D’Andre Dickerson, Valley Christian, RB, Jr.

He had more than 200 yards and two TDs in the Trojans’ win over Blue Ridge. He has more than 570 yards in three games.

8. Daryl Little II, Thunderbird, QB, Jr.

In a loss to Prescott, playing three quarters due to cramping, he ran 15 times for 228 yards and two TDs.

9. Gabe Robledo, Sabino, LB, So.

He had 13 tackles and a fumble recovery in a win over Dysart.

10. Jonte Jones, Bradshaw Mountain, RB, Sr.

He ran for 220 yards and four TDs on 12 carries in a 44-7 win over Independence.

11. Easton Bakutis, Campo Verde, WR, Sr.

In a 27-0 win over Ironwood Ridge, he caught 11 passes for 170 yards and two TDs.

12. Cooper Yackley, Shadow Ridge, RB, Sr.

He set a single-game school record with 134 rushing yards on 14 carries, a record 9.57 yards per carry for a game.

13. Carter Sage, ALA Ironwood, LB, Jr.

In a 26-21 win over Florence, he had 10 tackles and three sacks.

14. Zander Shirey, Globe, LB, Jr.

In a 51-8 win over San Carlos, he had eight tackles, four solo, a sack and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.

15. Cage Moore, Mesa, K, So.

In the Jackrabbits’ 31-28 win over Sandra Day O’Connor, he kicked the game-winning 47-yard field goal as time expired.
