Coast Guard Rescues 2 After Plane Crashes off Alaska Island
JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard rescued two folks from an island in Juneau, Alaska on Tuesday after their aircraft crashed within the water.
The 2 survivors have been the one passengers aboard the privately-owned plane, the Coast Guard stated. They have been secure situation.
The 2 swam to Douglas Island when their aircraft crashed 100 toes (30 meters) from shore.
An Alaska Seaplanes plane noticed them, landed on the water close by and offered first help.
The Coast Guard Cutter Swordfish arrived with a small boat crew who transferred the 2 to an Alaska Wildlife Troopers boat for transport to paramedics.

The aircraft stays within the water and is slowly sinking. Coast Guard responders are engaged on a salvage plan with the aircraft’s homeowners.
The reason for the incident is being investigated.
