Fencing to Go Up at US Capitol for State of the Union Address


Fencing is ready to go up across the U.S. Capitol this weekend forward of President Joe Biden’s State of the Union handle, NBC Information has discovered.

The fencing is a security precaution and was beneficial by the Capitol Police and Secret Service. It may very well be put in as quickly as Sunday.

It has been put in a number of occasions for the reason that January sixth revolt on the Capitol, together with the 2022 State of the Union handle.

The handle takes place Tuesday at 9 p.m.

DC police identify man who died after being shot near Nationals Park – WTOP News


D.C. police have identified the man who died after being shot near Nationals Park on Friday night.

D.C. police have identified the man who died after being shot near Nationals Park on Friday.

Police said officers responded to a report of gunshots being heard in the 1300 block of South Capitol Street at K Street in Southwest just before 7 p.m.

Officers said they were “flagged down” for a man with “gunshot wound injuries.” He was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

The man has been identified as Marc Butler Jr., 28, of no fixed address.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact D.C. police.

WASHINGTON (Gray DC) – One for the record books in Washington, D.C. as 40 chefs broke the Guinness World Record for largest pupusa.

Pupusas are a traditional dish from El Salvador. The previous world record was an 18-foot pupusa in El Salvador.

The chefs undertook the challenge during Fiesta DC — a street fair celebrating latin food and culture.

The prep and cooking process for the 20-foot dish took several hours.

Chef Ben Velasquez said there is an official process for certifying the giant pupusa.

“There is an inspector for Guinness World Record certifying that we are using first, all of the international ways of sanitary conditions, the way the food is, safe to eat, etcetera,” Velasquez said.

Velasquez said their final product can serve more than 2000 people.

The project took more than 3 months of planning.
