Virginia L. Bean – The Vienna Times

Virginia L. (Graves) Bean, age 94 years, a resident of Vienna and a former resident of Belknap, handed away Sunday night, Might 29, 2022, at 11:47 PM at Hillview Healthcare Heart in Vienna, the place she had made her residence for the previous 18 years.

Virginia was born December 6, 1927 within the Inexperienced Briar group in Johnson County Illinois. She was the daughter of John Ervin Graves and Lillian (Richards) Graves.

On August 10, 1952, Virginia was united in marriage to Carroll Bean on the Belknap United Methodist Church.  He preceded her in dying on January 25, 1978.

Virginia is survived by:  her youngsters – Karen (Bob) Brumley of Joliet and Mark (Kelly) Bean of Vienna; 4 grandchildren – Alex Brumley of Lemont, Shannon (Jamie) Kerley of Vienna, Stacy (Timothy Crosby) Bean of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Allison (Sean) Stramm of Vienna; 2 nice grandchildren – Anna Rene’ Kerley and Jackson Ray Kerley; 2 sisters-in-law – Margaret Graves and Myrna Graves each of Vienna; in addition to a number of nieces, nephews, different family and lots of associates.

Along with her mother and father and husband, Virginia was preceded in dying by: an toddler son – Steven Carroll Bean; 3 sisters – Barbara Duvall, Norma Vaughn, and her twin sister Catherine Moore; 2 brothers – Johnny Bob Graves and Paul Graves; an toddler brother – William James Graves; and a couple of brothers-in-law – Ed Vaughn and Robert J. “Bob” Moore.

Virginia attended the Belknap Grade College.  She started her working profession at Hodge’s Retailer in Belknap.  She later was employed at Ned’s Shed in Vienna, the Good Luck Glove Manufacturing facility in Metropolis, and the Coast-to-Coast ironmongery shop in Vienna.  Later, Virginia was employed as a psychological well being technician on the Choate Psychological Well being Heart in Anna, previous to her retirement.

Virginia beloved life and loved many actions and pastimes, together with – knitting, quilting, studying, finishing phrase search puzzles, and baking.

Virginia cherished time spent along with her household.  Sunday “get-togethers” had been a weekly incidence when Virginia, her siblings and all their households would collect at Mr. and Mrs. Graves’ residence for the day.  “2 meals and selfmade ice cream” made for an excellent day spent collectively.  When Virginia was blessed with the beginning of her first grandchild, Alex, in 1981, she would typically journey by bus or practice to Joliet.  Her son-in-law Bob would decide her up on the station and he or she would take pleasure in prolonged visits.  Later, as Mark and Kelly’s household expanded to welcome their three daughters, Virginia loved attending many actions, faculty capabilities and numerous sporting occasions.  She was fondly known as “Granny Bean” by the softball staff members.  Later, her nice grandchildren, “the twins” turned the sunshine of her life and he or she spent many joyful hours with them.  Her prolonged household included members of her daughter-in-law Kelly’s household.  She particularly cherished time spent with Rhudell Pearce, Bob and Kim Collins, Jack and Shirley Jones.

Visitation will likely be performed Thursday night, June 2, 2022, from 5 PM – 8 PM at Bailey Funeral House.  Jap Star rites will likely be accorded Wednesday night at 8 PM on the funeral residence.
