SACO – Virginia Briggs Moody handed peacefully in her residence on April 7, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband Robert W. Moody in 1982, her sisters Sharon Merrill, Diane Lee, and brother Robert Briggs.
Virginia was born on April 25, 1931, to Clyde and Carolyne Briggs in Freedom Maine. The oldest of six kids, she served because the household position mannequin. Her sister Cheryl stated, “If Ginny may do it, so may we.”
Ginny was an distinctive scholar and performed basketball at school. Upon graduating from excessive College, she enrolled within the Maine Basic Hospital Nursing program the place she met her lifelong good friend Jan Clark and whereas a scholar there met the love of her life Robert Moody. She labored as a nurse in Portland till she and Robert moved to Saco following Arlene Moody’s loss of life to maintain Robert’s father Charles.

After Robert died in 1982, she continued the household enterprise of Moody’s Nursery began by her father-in-law Charles in 1935. She expanded the enterprise, including greenhouses, a bigger retail space and expanded landscaping providers.
Her most legendary exercise was planning the “Sister Journeys” Ginny and her sisters would take every summer season, selecting actions like white-water rafting, climbing mount Katahdin, and bicycling round Vinylhaven.
She cherished her residence, entrusted to her by her father-in-law Charles. She was an avid gardener sustaining show gardens and a big chopping backyard.
Ginny is survived by her two sons Robert and Charles, their wives Julie and Victoria, two granddaughters Rachel and Abigail, and nice granddaughter Alaina Morey.
She didn’t go light into that good evening and raged upon the dying of the sunshine.
Visiting hours are to be held Thursday April 13, 2023 from 4-6 p.m., on the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral House 365 Essential St, Saco.
A funeral service will probably be held 11 a.m. Friday April 14, 2023, at Trinity Episcopal Church, Cleveland Avenue, Saco, with a reception to observe.
Personal household burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery at a later date.
