CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Brian Edgington knew Kyle Teel was coming. He was just hoping he’d avoid a blindside hit. 

Virginia’s starting pitcher watched the final out of his postseason complete-game gem be recorded. Then he was able to keep his head on a swivel whipping around in time to brace himself for his catcher’s flying hug that took them both to the ground to start the Cavaliers’ celebratory dogpile. Fittingly, it took place right on the pitcher’s mound where Edgington dominated the Charlottesville Super Regional finale in a 12-2 win over Duke.
