Watch: FC Dallas’ Jesús Ferreira scores first-half hat trick for USMNT in Gold Cup
FC Dallas striker Jesús Ferreira can’t stop scoring for the United States Men’s National Team. In the 14′ against Trinidad and Tobago Ferreira scored his 12th career international goal to give the U.S. a 1-0 lead.
In the 39′, Ferreira doubled the lead by reacting quickly to his own rebound and slotting it into the back of the net.
In extra time of the first half, Ferreira stepped up to the spot and drilled a penalty kick to finish off his second-straight hat trick in the Gold Cup.
His first Gold Cup hat trick came against St. Kitts and Nevis. Ferreira’s first international hat trick was a four-goal outburst vs. Grenada on June 12, 2022, in the Concacaf Nations League.
No USMNT player had ever scored back-to-back hat tricks in team history before Ferreira.
The FC Dallas striker now has six goals in the Gold Cup, three times as many as any other player in the tournament. The 22-year-old Texan now has 14 international goals for the United States, tied for the 13th-most by any player.
Ferreira’s three hat tricks tie Landon Donovan for the most in USMNT history.
