Mavs’ Dereck Lively II, Olivier-Maxence Prosper make highlights in Summer League debuts

The Mavericks fell in their Summer League opener to the Thunder 91-80 on Saturday afternoon.

Dallas’ first-round draft picks Dereck Lively II and Olivier-Maxence Prosper each made a highlight reel play in their Summer League debuts.

Prosper played 17 minutes and scored seven points while shooting 3-4 from the field. The 21-year-old made one of his two 3-pointers on the day and was called for two personal fouls.

Lively played 16 minutes and scored four points while grabbing five rebounds and recording a steal. The former Duke center shot 1-2 from the field and 2-6 from the free-throw line. His one made field goal was a thunderous slam dunk.

Second-year point guard Jaden Hardy led the team with 24 points and 31 minutes played and put up six rebounds.

Hardy shot 4-5 from the free throw stripe and earned one of his five attempts after being fouled by Chet Holmgren while making this shot.

Mavs governor Mark Cuban was on hand to watch the action alongside head coach Jason Kidd and newly re-signed Kyrie Irving.

Dallas plays Philadelphia at 7 p.m. CT on Monday.
