Where do you vote on Election Day? Everything to know before casting your ballot in Austin

Election Day is Tuesday, and Texans are heading to the polls to vote on local and state issues.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023.

Where can I vote on Election Day?

You can find your nearest polling location and check to make sure you’re registered to vote in the Texas secretary of state’s voter portal. You’ll be asked to enter your first and last name, birthdate and what county you live in; your Texas driver’s license number and birthdate; or your voter unique identifier and birthdate.

Check the website just before going because polling locations can change. 

What do I need to bring with me to vote?

You’ll need one of these seven forms of photo identification to vote:

• A Texas driver’s license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
• A Texas election identification certificate issued by DPS.
• A Texas personal identification card issued by DPS.
• A Texas handgun license issued by DPS.
• A U.S. military identification card bearing your photograph.
• A U.S. citizenship certificate bearing your photograph.
• A U.S. passport.

A student ID is not considered an acceptable form of identification to vote in Texas.
