ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Atlanta police said an 18-year-old teenager was shot in the leg Wednesday.

Police said officers responded to 3651 Croft Place NW around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. There, they found an 18-year-old with a gunshot wound to his right leg.

Police said the shooting happened after the teenager “was in a verbal dispute with the suspect which escalated into gunfire.”

The teen was taken to the hospital alert, conscious and breathing, according to police.
