The Alabama football team had many players lead the Crimson Tide to a 12-2 record and an SEC Championship title last season. The season culminated with a loss in the College Football Playoff semifinal and the No. 5 spot in the final AP Top 25.

At least 12 of these leaders are ready for the next chapter of their football careers—the 2024 NFL Draft—from April 25-27. Before the Chicago Bears are officially on the clock with the first-overall pick, here’s a preview for each of the 10 Alabama players who were invited to last month’s NFL Combine:

Edge rusher Dallas Turner was widely expected to be the successor of now-NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Will Anderson Jr. to start this past season, and he most certainly didn’t disappoint. The SEC Defensive Player of the Year and Consensus All-American finished 2023 second in the conference in tackles for loss (15) and first in sacks (10).

Cornerback Terrion Arnold led Alabama with five interceptions this past season, when he was named a first-team All-America by the Associated Press, and second-team selection by the American Football Coaches Association and The Sporting News. The redshirt sophomore was also named All-SEC by league coaches, and was a second-team pick by media as he led the conference with 16 passes defended.

Offensive tackle JC Latham started two seasons at right tackle for the Crimson Tide, and was named a second team All-American by the Associated Press, the FWAA, The Sporting News, and Walter Camp for his play in 2023. He was selected as a First Team All-SEC player by both the AP and the league’s coaches.

Cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry finished second on the team behind Arnold with seven pass breakups. He also totaled 32 tackles this season. His numbers dipped a bit from last season, as opposing quarterbacks didn’t throw toward him as often due to an elite sophomore campaign. Nevertheless, McKinstry was still named an AP All-American.

Edge rusher Chris Braswell finished second on the team and fifth in the conference with eight sacks, and logged 42 tackles, including 10.5 for loss and an SEC-best three forced fumbles. He also blocked a kick and logged a pick-six. Braswell was named to the All-SEC Second Team.

Wide receiver Jermaine Burton led Alabama in touchdowns and receiving yards with 39 catches for 798 yards and eight touchdowns. He had four catches for 21 yards in the season-ending Rose Bowl loss to Michigan.

Edge rusher Justin Eboigbe was on and off of the field in his first four years at Alabama, but he truly broke out this past season. In 2023, he recorded career-highs in every stat category, including 11.5 tackles for loss (10th-best in the SEC) and seven sacks (eighth-best in the conference). He was named to the All-SEC First Team.

Running back Jase McClellan finally stepped into a starting role as a senior in 2023 after multiple injury-riddled seasons, and made the most of it. On 180 carries, McClellan amassed 890 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground, leading the Crimson Tide in both carries and rushing yards.

Safety Jaylen Key transferred to Alabama this past offseason after an extremely successful year at UAB. In 12 games with the Crimson Tide this past season, he recorded 60 tackles and an interception.

Kicker Will Reichard finished his collegiate career as the NCAA’s all-time points leader with 547 thanks to 84 field goals and 295 PATs. He accumulated 121 points in his final season on 22-of-25 field goals and 55 PATs in as many tries.

With the NCAA baseball bracket coming out on May 27, it is time to see where Alabama baseball is projected to be seeded.

The 2024 NCAA tournament is set to begin on Friday May 31, paving the way for the start of the College World Series on Friday, June 14.

The No. 18 Crimson Tide (26-15, 7-11 SEC) is in its first season under new coach Rob Vaughn, who was hired in June 2023. Alabama has 26 NCAA tournament appearances in program history and has a chance to make back-to-back tournaments for the first time since 2013 and 2014 according to D1Baseball and Baseball America.

Baseball America’s projection for Alabama

Baseball America projects Alabama as a No. 3 seed. The Crimson Tide would be part of the Norman region where Oklahoma would be the host school.

The other schools in the region include No. 2 Dallas Baptist and No. 4 Niagara.

D1 Baseball’s projection for Alabama

D1 Baseball has Alabama as a No. 2 seed as part of the Charlottesville region with No. 1 Virginia being the host school.

The other school’s in the region are No. 3 Utah and No. 4 Georgetown.

It’s not easy playing behind of one of Alabama’s best defensive players, but EDGE Dallas Turner took on the challenge and emerged out of Will Anderson’s shadow to show he’s one of the best defensive players in the upcoming NFL draft class.

Turner came to the Capstone one season after Anderson broke onto the scene. He served as Anderson’s “Robin” as the opposite edge rusher, going so far as to accumulate 8.5 sacks in his freshman year. His play took a slight step back as a sophomore but he got right back on track for his junior year hitting double-digit sacks in a season for the first time in his career.

He’s in a unique position as the NFL draft kicks off on Thursday night. Turner is considered one of the best defensive prospects in a class that is loaded with offensive talent. If he’s the first defender selected in Detroit on Thursday that will give the Crimson Tide back to back years with the first defender taken, following Will Anderson’s number three overall selection last season by the Houston Texans.

Turner appeared in 42 games, making 27 starts for the Alabama defense over the last three seasons. He accumulated 120 tackles with 33.5 coming for a loss. He also tallied 23.5 sacks, forced two fumbles, recovered two more and scored one defensive touchdown during his tenure in Tuscaloosa. For his standout performances he was named SEC co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2023 while earning consensus All-American status and First Team All-SEC. His strong freshman season earned him Freshman All-America honors from 247Sports and the FWAA, while he was also selected to the All-SEC Freshman Team.

“Long and athletic with the explosive traits needed to become an impactful NFL pass rusher. Turner’s first-step quickness and elite closing burst are important building blocks, but he still needs to work on his process from Point A to Point B. He hasn’t learned to create the space and angles needed to consistently attack the edges, but that should come with better hand development and a more diversified approach. A team would be wise to widen him out and allow him a better runway to ignite his burst and overwhelm tackles with his speed. He’s added 20 pounds since coming to Alabama, but he struggles at times to stack and shed run blockers or set a firm edge. Turner’s frame and game are much less developed than Will Anderson Jr.’s coming out of Alabama last year, so it could take time for him to make his mark as a starting 3-4 outside linebacker.”
