Rep. Jeff Fortenberry, R-Neb., introduced Saturday that he’ll resign from Congress after he was convicted by a California jury for mendacity to authorities about an unlawful marketing campaign donation from a international nationwide.

In a letter to members of the Home, Fortenberry, who has served as Congressman for Nebraska’s 1st congressional district since 2005, stated he was resigning from Congress, efficient on the finish of this month.
“It has been my honor to serve with you in america Home of Representatives,” he stated within the letter. “Because of the difficulties of my present circumstances, I can not successfully serve.”
