Pittsburg teen arrested, faces drug charges

A Pittsburg teenager arrested throughout a site visitors cease final week has been charged with misdemeanor drug prices.

A Labette County sheriff’s deputy stopped a car for dashing 75 mph in a 55 mph zone at 4:20 p.m. Friday on 24000 Street east of Parsons.

Throughout the cease, the deputy detected an odor related to burned marijuana coming from the automobile.

The driving force was recognized as Shontes Wright and the passenger was Diego M. Cornelio, 19.

A search of the automobile turned up small quantities of medicine, a pistol and $6,720 in money.

Sheriff Darren Eichinger mentioned the deputies discovered the disassembled 9 mm pistol on Cornelio and a glass smoking pipe with residue, the money wrapped in rubber bands and suspected Xanax. Cornelio is jailed on 4 misdemeanor prices associated to the cease: Possession of Xanax, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and legal use of a weapon.

He stays jailed on a $15,000 bond.
