PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A person shot and killed an armed man on a bicycle who police consider tried to rob him in entrance of his house in South Philadelphia on Wednesday evening.

It occurred round 11:30 p.m. alongside the 2200 block of S. sixth Road close to W. Moyamensing Avenue.

Investigators mentioned a 24-year-old man was smoking a cigarette in entrance of his home when one other man on a bicycle approached him with a gun and introduced a theft.

Police mentioned the 24-year-old pulled out his personal handgun and fired one shot as the opposite man was stepping off of the bicycle.

Arriving officers discovered the bicyclist on the sidewalk with a single gunshot wound to the top.
