Indiana Task Force 1 continues mission in Florida after Hurricane Ian
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana Activity Power 1 continues to assist with search and rescue efforts in Florida within the aftermath of Hurricane Ian.
In a Sunday tweet, the group mentioned it was conducting search operations in Fort Meyers and Fort Meyers Seaside, two of the areas hit hardest by the hurricane.
“The group is working neighborhood to neighborhood, clearing communities affected by Hurricane Ian. We have now additionally listened to residents inform us their tales of survival through the storm.”
In response to the Florida Division of Emergency Administration, crews like Indiana Activity Power 1 have rescued greater than 1,600 folks statewide.
Deanne Criswell, the administrator of the Federal Emergency Administration Company, says search and rescue operations in Florida will proceed.
