Indiana men’s tennis opens its fall season at the Duke Bonk Invitational
The Indiana males’s tennis workforce traveled to Durham, North Carolina, over the weekend to open its fall season on the Duke Bonk Invitational.
4 Hoosiers participated within the weekend occasion, led by three upperclassmen who took the journey to Durham: fifth-year senior Patrick Fletchall, junior Michael Andre and junior Ilya Tiraspolsky. Ekansh Kumar, a freshman, was the fourth Hoosier participant.
“It was a robust event, there’s plenty of good groups there, plenty of good gamers,” head coach Jeremy Wurtzman stated after the occasion.
Flethcall and Andre each competed within the Singles A Draw bracket. Within the competitors, Andre positioned fifth, whereas Fletchall obtained fourth place within the comfort bracket.
“That was an incredible begin for Michael, and it undoubtedly gave him some confidence transferring on,” Wurtzman stated.
Tiraspolsky completed in fifteenth place within the Singles B Draw bracket, whereas Kumar positioned first within the Singles C Draw Comfort bracket.
After shedding in his first collegiate match to start the event, Kumar was capable of bounce again and win the Singles C Draw comfort bracket — taking the ultimate two units to at least one.
