College football rankings: Stanford, Indiana make Bottom 25 debuts as Power Five presence increases

25. Texas State 3-7 The Bobcats additionally make their Backside 25 debut. They’ve misplaced 4 straight after beginning the season 3-3. The most recent loss was a 38-21 defeat to South Alabama over the weekend, and now they have an enormous sport towards No. 17 Arkansas State looming. (Final Week: Not Ranked) 24. Stanford 3-7 That is what you get for suspending The Tree, Stanford. Did you suppose you can get away with it? Right here I believed you Stanford varieties have been into bushes, however I assume I confused you with Cal. Talking of Cal, that is who Stanford will get this week. (NR) 23. Military 3-6 Military escaped The Backside 25 for some time after a two-game win streak in October, however losses to Air Power and Troy deliver them again. The excellent news is the losses got here by a mixed seven factors, however Military must win out to achieve a bowl. It isn’t not possible, however the UConn crew it faces this week is significantly better than your typical UConn crew. (NR) 22. ULM 4-6 Do not let the Warhawks get scorching! I informed you they might win one other sport, after which they beat Texas State. Then I informed you to not be stunned in the event that they gained once more, and so they beat Georgia State 31-28! Sadly, that is not sufficient to flee the rankings, however a win this week at Troy can be. (16) 21. UTEP 4-6 The Miners had the weekend off and return to motion this week towards No. 11 FIU. (21) 20. Boston Faculty 3-7 Boston Faculty has been so dangerous this season that I did not suppose there was an opportunity it might be capable of beat NC State, even when the Wolfpack have been technically all the way down to their third-string QB. Effectively, guess what? They did! The Eagles SHOCKED THE WORLD in a 21-20 win over NC State. This week, they’re on the street to face Notre Dame. (13) 19. Temple 3-7 Temple got here so painfully near pulling off the upset towards Houston however allowed a 44-yard landing within the last minute to lose 43-36. It was an unbelievable catch by Houston’s Matthew Golden, but it surely nonetheless harm. Now the Owls must face Cincinnati. (23) 18. Navy 3-7 It isn’t surprising contemplating Navy is an choice crew, however solely three of the Mids’ 10 video games this season have been settled by multiple rating. Their 35-32 loss to Notre Dame was not one in all them. They’ve hung powerful with Cincinnati and the Irish since beating Temple, and get one other powerful check this week at UCF. (20) 17. Arkansas State 3-7 The Crimson Wolves made a late cease on a 2-point conversion to beat No. 1 UMass 35-33 in The Backside 25 Recreation of the Century of Final Week, and this week they get one other Backside 25 showdown towards No. 25 Texas State. (11) 16. Indiana 3-7 The Hoosiers had been hovering for some time, however dropping to Penn State and Ohio State by a mixed rating of 101-28 the final two weeks, mixed with their win over Illinois dropping worth, despatched them flying to No. 16 of their Backside 25 debut. They’ve misplaced seven straight after beginning 3-0, and get a street sport towards Michigan State this week. (NR) 15. Northern Illinois 3-7 The Huskies picked up a pleasant 24-21 win over Western Michigan, but it surely did not do a lot for them right here. They return to motion Wednesday towards Miami, OH. (12) 14. Virginia Tech 2-8 The Hokies jumped out to a 7-0 lead over Duke, and earlier than you can end saying “perhaps?” to your self, they gave up 24 factors and misplaced 24-7. Now they’re going to be on the street towards a Liberty crew that is already overwhelmed Arkansas and can certainly be on excessive alert after dropping to UConn. (18) 13. Louisiana Tech 3-7 There was no momentum from the 40-24 win over Center Tennessee. The Bulldogs have been crushed 51-7 by UTSA and must recuperate shortly to organize for this week’s sport towards No. 7 Charlotte. (19) 12. Western Michigan 3-7 Very similar to Northern Illinois did not climb far after beating Western Michigan, the Broncos did not fall far after dropping to Northern Illinois. No one outplayed the opposite within the sport; one crew simply scored a number of extra factors. Perhaps it’s going to be Western scoring a number of extra towards Central Michigan Wednesday. (14) 11. FIU 4-6 They did it once more! Each time the Panthers lose, they lose large. This time it was a 52-7 loss in a rivalry sport towards Florida Atlantic. Their six losses have now come by a mean of 37.7 factors. Meaning you wager each FIU on the moneyline towards No. 21 UTEP this week or an alternate unfold for the Miners with plus odds. You may generate profits both approach. (15) 10. Nevada 2-8 The Wolf Pack hung with San Jose State final week however had no shot towards Boise on Saturday, dropping 41-3. This week they get their last house sport of the season towards Fresno State. (10) 9. Northwestern 1-9 Northwestern has not gained a soccer sport on American soil since Oct. 16, 2021. It has been 15 straight losses in the USA since with a 31-3 stomping by Minnesota being the most recent. This week, the Wildcats journey to Purdue, which is in America. Not nice. (9) 8. New Mexico 2-8 Air Power ran for 428 yards towards New Mexico in a 35-3 win over the Lobos. It felt just like the Falcons have been attempting to get the sport over, and the Lobos nonetheless could not cease them. This week, New Mexico faces one other run-heavy crew in San Diego State. (8) 7. Charlotte 2-9 The 49ers have been a lot friskier towards Center Tennessee than they have been of their 59-7 loss to Western Kentucky, but it surely did not cease them from dropping 24-14. This week, they end their season with No. 13 Louisiana Tech in The Backside 25 Recreation of the Century of the Week! What a solution to end the season! (7) 6. Colorado State 2-8 The Rams practically knocked off Wyoming however got here up quick in a 14-13 loss. This week, they must take care of the choice assault of Air Power that simply ran for 428 yards towards New Mexico. (5) 5. South Florida 1-9 There was no fired coach bump for the Bulls; they misplaced to SMU 41-23 of their first sport since firing Jeff Scott. It is the eighth straight loss for South Florida forward of this week’s sport towards Tulsa. (6) 4. Hawaii 2-9 The Warriors have misplaced 4 straight after falling to Utah State 41-34. Whereas the loss stinks, it was good to see a extra aggressive efficiency from Hawaii after their 42-point loss to Fresno State. They’d been enjoying higher of late, and I used to be frightened they’d let the Bulldogs beat them twice. (4) 3. Akron 1-9 Akron continues to make incremental enhancements week by week in convention play, however the Zips have but to interrupt by means of. They misplaced to Jap Michigan 34-28 of their last house sport of the season, and shall be on the street towards Buffalo on Saturday. (3) 2. Colorado 1-9 Colorado’s November From Hell Tour continued with a 55-17 loss to USC Friday evening. This week, they’re going to be going through Washington in Seattle. Perhaps they’re going to catch the Huskies affected by an emotional letdown following the win over Oregon? However are we positive that can matter? (2) 1. UMass 1-9 You don’t have any concept how badly I want Texas A&M was in The Backside 25 so I might’ve made this week’s sport between the Aggies and Minutemen The Recreation of the Century of the Week. Sadly, Texas A&M is not close to dangerous sufficient (significantly, within the Backside 25 rankings, they’re No. 50). Jimbo Fisher cannot even do dropping proper. Anyway, how hilarious would it not be if UMass retains the streak of A&M not scoring 30 factors in a sport towards an FBS crew alive? (1)
