Illinois Roofer Again Cited, Fined for Alleged Fall Hazards

OSHA has proposed $275,869 in penalties and issued citations to an Illinois roofing contractor alleging one willful violation and four repeat violations for lack of fall protection, the Labor Department said Tuesday.

US Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspectors allegedly observed eight roofers with R&R Construction Services Inc. working without fall protection at heights over six feet at a residential home work site in Palos Heights, Ill. About a month later, they also observed crew working without required protection atop a residential roof in Joliet, Ill., according to the department.
