PAXTON, Sick. (WCIA) — Ameren Illinois is partnering with communities in six central Illinois counties to improve neighborhood streetlights with extra energy-efficient LED (light-emitting diode) streetlights.

Ameren Illinois is changing roughly 1,280 current sodium vapor, mercury vapor and metallic halide streetlights with LEDs. Substitute began Could 2 and it’s anticipated to be accomplished by mid-June.
