Gorgeous Spanish beach so much like Hawaii even tourists want to ‘gatekeep’ it
A viral TikTok video of a “Hawaii of Spain” beach has sparked a debate among tourists, with some begging to know its location and others asking to “gatekeep” it to preserve its beauty.
Influencers The Vacation Twins, who have more than 16,000 followers, shared a stunning video showcasing what they call the “prettiest beach in Spain.”
The footage reveals an idyllic, uncrowded sandy beach, framed by lush green hills and crystal-clear azure waters.
Labelled as the “Hawaii of Spain” in their video caption, the clip has sparked curiosity among viewers clamouring to discover this secret paradise.
Some fans, however, are imploring the twins to keep the location under wraps to preserve its tranquillity.
The serene spot in question is Playa de Torimbia, one of the many breathtaking beaches along the Asturias region’s coastline on Spain’s north-western edge.
Often referred to as “Green Spain”, Asturias boasts a moist, temperate climate that nurtures verdant landscapes, dramatic mountains, and pristine shores like Playa del Silencio – the Beach of Silence.
Nestled in Asturias’ western reaches, Playa del Silencio lives up to its name, offering a tranquil retreat where cliffs embrace the sea, creating a gentle symphony of waves.
The website Asturias.com describes it saying: “Its name says it all, Playa del Silencio is a silent place where the cliffs close in on themselves, turning the waves of the surroundings into a subtle lullaby […] The protective cliffs, scattered islets on the shore and the special quality and colour of its waters are combined.”
Asturias boasts the picturesque cities of Gijon and Oviedo, as well as a plethora of quaint fishing villages.
Tucked away in Spain’s northwest, Oviedo emerges as an undiscovered jewel ripe for exploration.
A culinary adventure is essential when visiting the town, where the local fare, especially its famed cheeses, promises to tantalise the taste buds of food lovers.
Cudillero is arguably the crown jewel among these, famed for its brightly coloured houses.
The Vacation Twins were also captivated by Cudillero’s charm during their visit, which they documented in a TikTok video, dubbing it “the most charming village in Spain”.
Their footage showcasing the harbour’s crystal-clear waters has attracted over 56,000 likes.

Redesigned Hawaii IDs begin rolling out statewide
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Newly redesigned Hawaii driver’s licenses and state IDs are beginning to arrive in mailboxes statewide.
The Department of Customer Services said more than 50,000 residents who renewed or obtained a license or state ID starting in mid-May began receiving the new cards last Friday.
Officials said the updated cards are made of 100% polycarbonate, with laser-engraved photos and added security features intended to deter tampering, fraud and identity theft.
The department said existing driver’s licenses and state IDs remain valid until their expiration dates and do not need to be replaced.
“There’s no reason for them to request a duplicate unless they would like the new card design,” said Kim Hashiro, director of the Department of Customer Services.
Residents were also reminded that temporary paper licenses are not accepted by the Transportation Security Administration for air travel. Travelers using a temporary credential should bring another acceptable form of identification, such as a passport.
Permanent plastic cards are typically mailed within six to eight weeks after an application is submitted, officials said.

Lahaina dive shop to reopen after nearly three-year closure
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A Maui dive shop will welcome customers back this weekend after its Lahaina storefront was destroyed in the 2023 wildfires.
Maui Diving & Sporting Goods will hold a grand opening on Ulupono Street on Saturday, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
“Losing the shop in the fire broke my heart, but reopening in Lahaina was never in question,” said store owner Jessica Pickering. “This town gave me everything I have right now. Rebuilding right here in Lahaina is my way of saying we’re still standing, we’re still here for our community, and we’re ready to enjoy this life with you.”
The business will offer the same services it’s known for at the new locations, including scuba instruction, guided dives, snorkel tours, freediving, as well as gear rentals and sales.
The grand opening will include a blessing followed by giveaways, games, and other activities.
