CANAAN, New Hampshire – On February 13, 2024, at approximately 8:25 p.m., Trooper Conde from the New Hampshire State Police Troop F Barracks observed an SUV drive past Canaan Police Department with a VT truck plate. The registration came back to a white Ford pickup truck and Trooper Conde attempted to stop the vehicle for misuse of plates. The vehicle was later identified as a:

The driver of the SUV fled into Grafton onto Height of Land Road and crashed while attempting to turn around on a dead-end road. Trooper Conde was assisted by Canaan Police and removed the driver from the stuck vehicle.
The driver was identified as Robert “Bobby” Tibbits, age 53, of Enfield, New Hampshire. Tibbits was taken into custody on two warrants and booked at the Canaan Police Department. The vehicle was searched and cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, and a quantity of U.S. currency were found. Tibbits refused bail and was transported the Grafton County House of Corrections.
